The Third Tianjin Photography Competition of “Tianjin in the Eyes of a Foreigner” was launched recently at Minyuan Square in Wudadao, the city ‘s most iconic tourist area, drawing more than 180 competitors from 23 countries like America, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and Australia to submit their shots. The event is hosted by the Publicity Department of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Tianjin Municipal Administration of Foreign Experts’ Affairs, and co-organized by Jin Wan Bao and jinwanbao.com.cn.
Themed on “Displaying the charm of Tianjin and feeling the beauty of the city”, the competition is designed to showcase from foreigners’ perspectives Tianjin’s economic and social achievements as well as its customs and unique culture, to help foreigners staying and working in Tianjin go deeper and better merge themselves into the culture of Tianjin, to inspire them to participate in building a modern Tianjin, and to further improve the environment for Tianjin to attract more foreign talents. The event will last four months, offering theme activities like “Our Beautiful Tianjin” on-the-spot snap shooting, “China Day” for foreigners in Tianjin, “Tianjin Stories Caught by a Camera”, and “Searching for the Charm of Tianjin”.
