It is learned from Tianjin Airport that, Flight AIB99YF, the "green A330 aircraft" departing from Toulouse, France where the headquarters of Airbus is located, recently landed at Tianjin Airport successfully, indicating that after 17 months of communication, negotiation and preparation, the first "green aircraft" from Airbus finally landed at Tianjin.
The "green aircraft" is the aircraft that is able to fly safely but without any cabin facilities or paint spraying after final assembly. Because of the green antiseptic painting on the external surface of airframe materials, the aircraft is also in green. The maintenance of the "green aircraft" contains not only regular apron operation, but also complicated and elaborate aircraft import procedures, cabin service etc.
It is understood that Airbus Completion and Delivery Center will complete subsequent works of the "green aircraft", including the aircraft reception, cabin installation, aircraft paint spraying, aircraft test, aircraft delivery, customer acceptance etc. In the future, one or two A330 "green aircrafts" from Airbus will be delivered to Tianjin every month. Tianjin, China becomes the first Airbus aviation center for delivering both narrow-bodied and wide-bodied aircrafts outside Europe.
